The Slayer Seal is Mortal Shell II's optional easier combat mode. From the Marrow Keep fast-travel beacon, take the nearby tunnel or outer passage to the cliffside throne and pick up the Seal. Carrying it is safe, but equipping it disables further achievements for that save, so do not confirm the warning unless you accept that consequence.

GameSpot states that keeping the Slayer Seal in inventory does not trigger the achievement penalty.
Equipping it disables further achievement acquisition in the current save.
It adds a powerful punch, boosted sidearm break damage and riposte recovery effects.
Do this first
- Reach Marrow Keep and stand near its beacon or fast-travel point.
- Take the nearby tunnel or left-side passage toward the exterior.
- Continue to the cliffside throne and collect the glowing Slayer Seal.
- Leave it unequipped if you still want achievements on this save.
- If you choose to use it, read both the item effect and the in-game warning before confirming.
Slayer Seal location
GameSpot and Destructoid place the item in Marrow Keep. From the beacon hallway, take the passage leading outside and continue to the throne near the cliff. The glowing pickup there is the Slayer Seal; no boss kill is required by either route description.
What Easy Mode gives you
GameSpot lists three core advantages: Slayer Punch provides an invulnerable wind-up and heavy break pressure, equipped sidearms deal break damage, and successful ripostes restore health and resolve. These effects reduce combat pressure, but they do not convert the game into a separate menu-selected difficulty.
The achievement warning is the real decision
Picking up the Seal is not the commitment. Equipping it is. Current guides state that the equip action disables further achievements in that save, and the game warns the player before confirmation. Removing the Seal later should not be assumed to restore achievement eligibility.
Who should use it
Use the Slayer Seal when completing the game matters more than achievements on that save, or when the standard combat loop prevents progress. If achievement completion matters, keep it in inventory and instead improve the early route, Shell choice, weapon, healing and defensive rhythm first.
Night Mode is the opposite system
Night Mode is a harder, reversible world state controlled by Thestus, while the Slayer Seal is an equipped easier-mode item with a save-level achievement consequence. Do not treat switching back to daylight as a way to undo the Slayer Seal warning.
