Quick answer

Use Marrow Keep as your first anchor, learn Harden inside an attack, commit to one Shell and one weapon long enough to understand them, and cleanse nearby beacons before taking long detours. Spend for repeatable actions before experimenting with every option.

Do this first

  1. Finish the opening route and establish Marrow Keep as your hub.
  2. Talk to the hub characters before spending rare resources.
  3. Choose one nearby Shell and one weapon to learn first.
  4. Practice Harden during an attack instead of only as a panic block.
  5. Cleanse a beacon, spend vulnerable currency, then explore one short route at a time.
01

Build a route you can repeat

The world is interconnected and rewards detours, but a first session is easier when every trip begins and ends at a known beacon. Open one path, mark one unresolved door or landmark, then return before stacking multiple unknown fights.

02

Learn one defensive rhythm

Mortal Shell II removes the normal stamina restriction from attacks, but that does not make every commitment safe. Use Harden to absorb a response while maintaining pressure, then learn when an enemy's posture opens a critical window.

03

Spend to improve a common action

Early upgrades have more value when they improve attacks or defenses you use in every encounter. Avoid splitting limited resources across several Shells and weapons before one loadout feels reliable.

  • One Shell
  • One primary weapon
  • One repeatable defensive answer
  • One short exploration objective
